Torchwood - Miracle Day Teaser Trailer

Starz have released the first promotional teaser trailer for Torchwood: Miracle Day.
The programme will return for its fourth series on Starz in the USA and BBC One in the UK in July.

Not much in the way of "details" but... gives me something else to get excited about.

Torchwood - Miracle Day

It was revealed earlier this week by Tvline that Torchwood: Miracle Day will make its stateside debut on Starz on Friday, July 8.

No news on when it will get its UK premier but its possible it will be shown the same day here as in the US (as they are currently doing with season 6 of Doctor Who)



“Not a single person on Earth dies” Torchwood boss Russell T. Davies recently explained. “The old stay old. It’s great news for some people, but globally it’s an instant population boom. Earth relies on people dying. Suddenly you’re affecting everyone on the planet. That’s where the Torchwood team comes in.”

Will the show remain the same as it was when it was a fully BBC production, or will it be Americanised and be as bad as Doctor Who - The Movie?? Guess we'll find out July 8th

Russel T Davis Recently won an award from SFX for : BEST TV EPISODE - "Children Of Earth" Part Five

This is his acceptance speech, which was read out on the night:

Hello SFX, it's Russell T Davies here, I'll just dictate this on to your answerphone. Thanks very much to everyone who voted, and I'd also like to thank... Oh, hold on. Sorry. No, I'm busy, I'm on the phone to SFX. It's a magazine. No wonder you haven't heard of it, it's a specialist magazine. For special people. Yes, with special needs. They've given Torchwood a prize for Best TV Episode. No, stop laughing, they have. No, they really have. Honestly, stop laughing. I'm not kidding, seriously, stop laughing, now. No, it's not the Comedy Awards. Which episode? Day 5. No, not Day 4. No, definitely not Day 4. I didn't write Day 4. I don't f**king care what you think, Day 4 didn't win, okay? And no, he's not coming back to life, so forget it! You're no longer playing Ianto, you're my houseboy, so accept it, okay? Anyway. Torchwood Season 4?

According to an interview given to TV guide magazine by Russell T Davies, Torchwood season 4 could be taking shape by next January.

Russell says:


The recession has hit British television, but fingers crossed, it will be a go. We expect things to start to move in January. We’ve got great ideas for the show. I think there’s a further lease on life for many years to come, but certainly for a [fourth season],” Davies says. John Barrowman is finishing his run in “La Cage Aux Folles” in London, so there’s plenty of time to trade his feather boa for Captain Jack’s trench coat.

As gathered from another interview it seems that he knows exactly where everything will pick up, too. He admits that he already knows where Gwen, Rhys, their baby and Jack are, and what shape Torchwood itself would actually take.


I'm looking forward to this, as CoE really did seem as the end of Torchwood, nice to see how RTD pulls this outta the fire 

Its Time...

The new "season" of Torchwood starts tonight, different format this year as they wanted to do something special for its move to BBC1, instead of 13 episodes over 12 weeks, we are getting 5 episodes over 5 days.

Trailer for the new Torchwood miniseries got revealed the other day



From The BBC
Children Of Earth will air over five consecutive nights on BBC One later this year. Captain Jack (John Barrowman), Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles) and Ianto Jones (Gareth David-Lloyd) are still coming to terms with the death of two of their closest friends. Despite their pain, they have a job to do. This time they are faced with their fiercest threat to date, one which throws the future of Torchwood and the entire human race spiralling into danger. They battle against the odds but do they stand a chance of saving mankind?

Looks as if it may be following on a theme from the Dr Who Special The Christmas Invasion.

Slightly irked its only gonna be a mini series, 09 really is gonna be slow year in the whoniverse.

Still I will enjoy everyone of these specials this year. I may even have to start watching The Sarah Jane Adventures
