Good News Everyone

Share

Maurice LaMarche, The voice of Kif on futurama recently emailed the guys at bigshinyrobot.com with the following bit of information:

13 new episodes have been ordered, with an additional 13 optional. This is apart from the 13 episodes that will air beginning in June, 2011, on Comedy Central. So, yes, they will air in 13 episode blocks (Comedy Central loves those, for some reason), so that means there will be new Futurama in summer of 2012, and most probably in summer of 2013 as well, all off of this one order. Pretty good news, actually, don’tcha think? Because we kind of spread it out, so there are always new episodes to look forward to. That’s how I look at it, anyway.

Futurama is an undertated show, I for one am looking forward to the new episodes.

Proof that you can't keep a good thing down, Futurama will return to TV this June on Comedy Central.

The network with the best record for having no faith in TV shows Fox cancelled this show in 2003, It was resurrected in late 2007 with 4 straight to dvd movies that were released over 14 months.

Apparently it was the final bow for Futurama as Fox had no interest in the show.

Thankfully in stepped Comedy Central, on June 9, 2009, 20th Century Fox announced that Comedy Central had picked up the show for 26 new half-hour episodes that will begin airing in mid-2010.

Then today we got this announcement

We will see the first episode on Thursday June 24th at 10:00 p.m.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Good news, everyone! and other applicable quotes!

Rumours have it that Comedy Central has decided to expand its lineup beyond regular showings of Ghostbusters 2 and National Lampoon movies, and has ordered 13 new episodes of the nerd-favorite animated comedy Futurama.

I have to say, i have grown to REALLY love Futurama over the last few years and like it or not, its better than the current Simpsons... mind you so are stale farts in a lift.
